Sustain SoCal has formed networks and working groups of key stakeholders to address the challenges of a sustainable solutions to the energy needs of Southern California. Its widely recognized efforts have gained attention statewide, including serving in the past as the Orange County partner for Energize California, one of four California Energy Commission–funded Regional Energy Innovation Clusters. The program spanned four counties: Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara. Energize California had two primary purposes: Help bring new clean energy technologies to market that reduce ratepayer costs; and Connect clean energy stakeholders across the region in order to strengthen the sector. This program has since been discontinued by the State.
