Welcome Comments and Introductions by:
Scott Kitcher, President & CEO, Sustain SoCal

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and as the crisis begins to subside, solar and energy storage projects of all types and sizes, from residential to commercial to utility scale, face some unique challenges. New ideas, innovative strategies and creative approaches can keep project pipelines on track and keep the momentum needed to move the project through each stage, from planning to construction to completion.

Vitaly Lee will address the state of utility scale renewable development and the impact of COVID-19 on project development, federal policies, supply chain challenges and workforce issues. He will also be serving as Moderator for this Teleconference.

Gus Flores will discuss Southern California Edison’s recent 770MW procurement for new energy storage resources, with the objective of helping provide reliability to the grid and integrate renewable generation.

Lauren Randall will discuss changes Sunrun has made to continue installing during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the challenges and opportunities ahead to ensure communities have resilient energy solutions ahead of California’s next fire season. She will also present how Sunrun is working with CCAs and utilities across California to bring equitable, distributed clean energy solutions to thousands of single and multifamily residences and to aggregate these resources as “virtual power plants” for the benefit of all ratepayers.

Sustain SoCal invites it members, strategic partners and guests to dial-in to our weekly Community Teleconference. Held each Thursday at 2 pm Pacific time, these informal interactive discussions are led by Sustain SoCal members and address strategies and solutions within our recovery and beyond as they relate to energy, supply chain management, transportation, water, human capital management, agriculture, smart cities, cybersecurity, waste stream management, Community Choice Aggregation (CCA), cleantech economic development, ESG and impact investing and more.
