Membership Term, Expiration, and Renewal:
A Sustain SoCal (formerly Sustain OC) membership is annual. beginning at the time payment is processed for the membership.
A Sustain SoCal (formerly Sustain OC) membership expires exactly one year after payment is processed and membership term begins.
Payment to renew membership, no matter when payment is processed, will extend membership one year from expiration date, not the payment date.
Memberships expired beyond 90 days will become inactive and cannot be renewed online. In order to renew, the primary contact must contact Sustain SoCal (formerly Sustain OC) to request a membership renewal.
Prior to expiration of all memberships, Sustain SoCal (formerly Sustain OC) will make an effort to send notice of renewal to the primary contact, but cannot guarantee a renewal notice will be sent or received.
Membership dues for organizations other than government entity memberships are for individual organizations. A determination as to whether memberships of different entities within the same parent organization require separate memberships are made at the discretion of the Sustain SoCal (formerly Sustain OC) President or a Sustain SoCal (formerly Sustain OC) executive team member.
Individual federal, state and municipal agencies should obtain and maintain separate memberships.
Sustain OC will consider the most recent Email address, mailing address and telephone number provided in a membership application to be the primary contact for that firm.
Please be aware that Sustain SoCal (formerly Sustain OC) is structured as a 501 (c)(6), so it is likely that no portion of your membership dues will be tax deductible. Please consult a tax professional for all tax matters related to your association memberships.
Membership Dues Refund Policy:
A refund for the full dues amount will be issued if membership is cancelled within 5 business days of the beginning of the membership, as long as no benefits have been used.
No refund will be issued for the cancellation of membership beyond the 5 business days.
No refund will be issued in the event of a revocation of membership.

Advocacy – Serving as the voice for its members and industry in Orange County, Sacramento and Washington D.C.
Mentorship and Advisory – A service to the community in mentoring and advising toward sustainable growth inclusive of sustainable practices such as, business planning, strategic partnerships, supply chain management, human capital management, recycling, cleantech assessment and integration and more.
Networking & Collaboration – Providing a forum for the exchange of ideas, information, and business opportunities among large corporations, cleantech companies, local government, investors, academia and non-profits.
Access and introductions to experienced sustainability officers, government officials, the emerging technology, capital sources, both private and public, research and facilities at universities and colleges, member only events, complimentary or significantly discounted registration to Sustain SoCal (formerly Sustain OC) public events and more.
Ability to establish your own roundtables, working groups, workshops and lunch & learns: Coordinate focus meetings with a segment or all of Sustain SoCal (formerly Sustain OC) .
Education: Sustain SoCal (formerly Sustain OC) strives to educate our community and raise awareness in all matters related to sustainability with an emphasis on clean technology.
New member onboarding and orientation session conducted at UC Irvine Applied Innovation. The orientation session will include a discussion of your organization’s needs and objectives and an outline of the Sustain OC resources and networks that will help you reach your sustainability and business development goals.

Event Cancellation by Sustain SoCal (formerly Sustain OC) , refund of event registration fees
Sustain SoCal (formerly Sustain OC) reserves the right to cancel an event due to low enrollment, inclement weather, natural disaster or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable or create a safety concern for the attendees. If Sustain SoCal (formerly Sustain OC) cancels an event, registrants will be offered a full refund. Should circumstances arise that result in the postponement of an event, registrants will have the option to either receive a full refund or transfer registration to the same event at the new, future date.
Registration Cancellation by Participant
Unless specifically stated on registration materials, the deadline to receive a refund for an individual ticket is three business days (72 hours) before the event. Deadline to receive a refund for group purchases/tables is (7) seven business days before the event. Refunds for cancellations received after the stated deadlines will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and are at the discretion of Sustain OC.
Cancellations will be accepted in writing (Email) only and must be received by the stated cancellation deadline. All refund requests must be made by the attendee or credit card holder. Refund requests must include the name of the attendee and/or transaction number. Refunds will be issued as a credit card refund or by check at the discretion of Sustain SoCal (formerly Sustain OC) .

How to Return an Item to Sustain SoCal (formerly Sustain OC)
Your item must be in its original unused condition to be returned, unless there is a manufacturer defect.
The return of the item must be within 30 days of your purchase.

It is recommended that you ship the item via a trackable shipping system. Sustain SoCal (formerly Sustain OC) is not responsible for returned items lost or damaged in shipment.
Include in your package a letter stating the reason for your return.
Return Exceptions
Some items or other purchases may be deemed as not qualifying to be returned or refunded, which will be clearly disclosed at the time of purchase. Merchandise that has been worn, used, or altered will not be accepted for return or exchange.
Credit Card Charges
Your credit card will be charged when you place your order. If we are not able to fulfill your order for any reason your credit card or other payment method accepted by Sustain OC will be refunded.

Shipping Policy
Sustain SoCal (formerly Sustain OC) will attempt, but cannot guarantee, that we will ship all ordered and paid-for physical items within 10 business days utilizing the carrier of our choice. Shipping charges may apply, but will be disclosed at the time of the order.
Back Orders
If an item goes on back order we will ship you the part of your order that is in stock. When the item becomes available we will ship you the rest of your order. You will not be charged any additional shipping and handling for the second shipment.
